Kipi’s Cheese Maze is a free maze game for kids. Kipi, a tiny mouse explorer with a backpack, smells cheese somewhere in the maze, and your child helps him get there. Every maze is freshly made, so no two games are the same. The mazes take place in a leafy garden, a cosy kitchen and a quiet library. The first ones are small, 5 by 5 squares, and they grow very gently up to 11 by 11. It works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
How to play
- Drag Kipi along the paths with your finger, or swipe to make him run.
- Tap a spot on a path to walk there. On a computer, use the arrow keys or WASD.
- Kipi keeps running until the path splits, so you only choose at the crossings.
- Pick up berries for stars and find the cheese for 3 more. Find every berry for a bonus!
- Stuck? Tap “Show the way” to see little paw prints. Use your stars to unlock mouse friends.
Controls
- Touch: drag Kipi with a finger along the paths, swipe in a direction, or tap a spot on a path to walk there.
- Keyboard: use the arrow keys or W, A, S and D. Kipi keeps running along a path and stops at the next crossing, so there are only a few choices to make.
- Press H or the “Show the way” button to see a few soft paw prints pointing towards the cheese.
Tips and strategy
- Berries like to hide at the ends of paths. A dead end is never a mistake: it might have a treat in it!
- Find every berry in a maze to earn 2 bonus stars on top of the 3 stars for the cheese.
- Kipi leaves a soft trail of footprints, so you can see which paths you have already explored.
- Feeling stuck? The paw-print hint shows the next few steps, not the whole way, so the joy of finding the cheese stays yours.
- Want a different maze of the same size? Tap “New maze”. You can also start again with a tiny maze from the start card.
- Every fifth cheese brings a little celebration.
Game modes and difficulty
There is one calm mode with a gentle ramp: the first two mazes are 5 by 5, and every two mazes the grid grows by one row and column, up to 11 by 11. The themes change with each maze. There is no timer, no enemy and no way to lose. Stars unlock seven mouse friends with scarves, hats and a golden crown.
History and background
Mazes are among the oldest puzzles in the world, and they are wonderful for young children. Finding a way through helps them plan ahead, think about directions like up, down, left and right, and practise hand–eye coordination, all while it simply feels like play.
Kipi and the mouse friends were made just for Gemuzi. The game has soft colours, no flashing, no pressure and no ads inside the game area. There is nothing to buy and no account. Stars, friends and progress are saved only in your own browser.
