Friendly moles keep popping out of their holes in Dibby’s vegetable garden, and they love a gentle boop on the nose. Tap a mole and it giggles, ducks back down and gives your child a star. Moles in a blue nightcap are sleepy, though, so the trick is to look first and let them nap. It is a short, happy game about quick eyes and gentle hands, free to play with no ads in the game and no sign-up.
How to play
- Moles peek out of the holes in the garden.
- Tap or click a mole on the nose to boop it. It giggles and gives you a star!
- A mole in a blue nightcap is sleepy. Let it nap!
- Moles holding a strawberry give 3 stars, and 5 boops in a row give a bonus star.
- Your stars unlock new hats and garden treasures.
Controls
- Tap or click a mole to boop it. The whole mole counts, so small fingers can hit it easily.
- Keyboard: keys 1 to 9 match the nine holes (1 is top left), or move the dashed frame with the arrow keys and boop with Space or Enter.
- P or Escape pauses the round. It also pauses by itself when you switch tabs.
Tips and strategy
- Look at the hat before you tap: a blue nightcap with closed eyes means “let me sleep”. Booping it only wakes it up with a grumpy little pout and ends your row.
- Moles holding a strawberry give 3 stars instead of 1.
- Every 5 boops in a row give a bonus star. A mole that hides before you boop it just starts a new row, nothing else is lost.
- The sun crossing the sky shows how long the round still has. There is no ticking and no rush, and a new round starts with one tap.
- Moles come a little faster as the sun moves on, and up to three can peek out at once.
- Stars add up across rounds and unlock 7 hats for the moles and 4 garden treasures such as sunflowers, butterflies and a rainbow.
Game modes and difficulty
There is one gentle mode made for young children: a 45-second round in a garden with nine holes. Moles start slowly and speed up a little during the round. Your best round, your total stars and your sound setting are saved only on this device, and nothing is ever bought or spent.
History and background
Peek-a-boo games are among the first games babies and toddlers enjoy, and popping creatures are a classic idea for tapping games. Dibby’s Mole Garden keeps the fun of quick reactions but turns it into something kind: a friendly boop instead of a hit, and a sleepy mole that teaches kids to stop and look.
Dibby and the mole family are drawn in code, with no photos or downloads. Sound is off until you switch it on.
